Impeachment 2: This Time, It's Personal

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that I'm going to have something to say about today's events, so away we go.

I've been home for three days with a rather wretched case of diarrhea, but that was nothing compared to the shit I had to listen to from some of the Republicans in the House today. I am so goddamned tired of these bogus calls for unity from the same assholes who just spent a year sitting on Coronavirus relief bills and trying to steal an election.
Before the first impeachment, they were trying to say "well, you can't impeach him because it's an election year. Let the people decide." So they get their asses kicked in the election, and they try to completely disregard the voices of the very people they were scapegoating -- I'm sorry, representing. THEN, Trump, knowing full well that attacks on the Capitol were imminent because they'd been on social media for weeks (assuming he came off the fucking golf course long enough to read briefings), gives a speech calling for people to march to the Capitol and fight, reasserts his bullshit about how the country is being stolen from them, and then sits on his ass and does nothing while Congress was under siege, and the National Guards of surrounding states are being denied entry.
And the Republicans get up today and scream that it's just the "radical left" acting on their hatred of Trump. Bullshit. The "radical left" has been BENEVOLENT with this guy. They could have impeached him a third time when he tried to get the ambassador to the U.K. to lobby for the British Open to be held at his golf course in Scotland. That's a violation of the emoluments clause and a blatant misuse of power. He certainly could have been impeached a fourth time when he tried to brow-beat the Georgia SOS into overturning an election for him. I'm guessing a smart legal mind could find something impeachable when he had peaceful protesters gassed so that he could stand in front of a church and pose with a Bible.
Get elected by claiming Mexicans are rapists. But hey -- unity.
Try to ban muslims, but hey -- unity.
Say there are good people on both sides in Charlottesville, but hey -- unity.
Declare COVID to be a hoax, and make masks political. But hey -- unity.
Call it the "China Virus", but hey -- unity.
Announce during racial unrest "when the looting starts, the shooting starts," but don't do a fucking thing Wednesday. But hey -- unity.
Take your unity and fuck straight off. Any time a Democrat gets elected, there are cries for unity. It's time to bring the country together. It's time to heal. But the onus always seems to be on the Democrats to make all the concessions. You want unity? Act like you want to be unified. Admit that election fraud is the fucking lie we all know it is. Admit Biden won the election. Admit that Trump is a fucking danger to Democracy. Do something to indicate you actually care about unity and not your own political career. Until then, continue to fuck off. And keep fucking off.
